Do it safely

The Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity is the largest global advertising showcase, and Spotify's headquarters for 5 days was ‘Spotify Beach’ right on the famous Croisette – a location synonymous with the Cannes Film Festival.

RockSafely, one of the leading UK firms specialising in Health & Safety for events asked for a French translation of the Health & Safety Plan for Spotify Beach: « Plan particulier de sécurité et de protection de la santé » .

As the deadline for the translation was very tight, the document was split into two parts, and translated by two linguists, Florence in Marseille, and Murielle in Viscomtat. Splitting a translation usually presents additional challenges, but as the last section in the document, the Risk Assessment (Évaluation des risques), was laid-out in table format and bulleted rather than in running text as the first section, there was no consistency issue with regard to style. And close cooperation between project manager, translators, proof-reader, and author/client ensured that the terminology was correct as well as consistent throughout. Certain information, e.g. safety signage had to be localized.

Health, Safety and Environment is an important priority in any business, and 4 Translations has provided many HS&E related translations for companies based in the UK, e.g. EGGER  in Hexham, Alstom, CHEP and Serco, as well as interpreting during HS&E inductions for staff and subcontractors from plants in other parts of Europe/the world.
